MUSINGS OF MUSICAL MEMORIES AND ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear Nurse Bob, Robert E. Shea, BSN, RN, present his book, “Peekaboo, I See Miracles”. Nurse Bob has found that interactive musical entertainment can unlock communication in dementia patients. By adapting his performances, he helps residents overcome barriers to joy. While documenting his experiences, he compiled them into the book “Peekaboo, I See Miracles” to educate the public and caregivers about the true potential of those with dementia. As the CEO of Eldercare Entertainment LLC, Nurse Bob’s journey began as an evening manager at a resort, which led him to take an EMT course and work in an emergency room. He earned a nursing degree, learned guitar at 43, and by 53, was performing with his bluegrass band in nursing homes.
Book signing and questions and answers following the presentation.
Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
